Christian Marriage, also called Matrimony, is the sacrament by which a man and a woman enter into a permanent union of love that serves as a living image of Jesus' own full, faithful, fruitful, and eternal love for his Bride, the Church.
Please call the parish at 724-776-2888 as soon as you are engaged to reserve your wedding date. Couples who are planning a wedding at Divine Grace Parish will also want to read over our Wedding Guide:
Engaged couples are invited to join us for an upcoming Marriage Prep Weekend. Couples will spend time meeting other couples at our parish and learning more about their own relationship and the Sacrament of Marriage.
The weekend kicks off Friday evening with appetizers, introductions, and a talk on the sacramentality of Marriage. Saturday begins with breakfast followed by presentations on handling challenges in marriage, communication and conflict resolution, and communicating with the Lord.
After lunch, we will discuss the Catholic view of sexuality, natural family planning, and practicing the faith in the family. The weekend concludes with Saturday evening Mass. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required.
A marriage preparation program is also held twice a year in Butler, usually on two consecutive Saturdays. Couples must attend both sessions. For more information on upcoming sessions or to register, contact Cheryl Weiland at 724-991-2639 [email protected] or Deacon Mike Kaufman at 724-679-3470 [email protected]
