The Gaydosz's experience this Lent mirrors their faith journey- changing and growing.

"Lent for us used to be about preparing for Easter and giving up things, says Joyce Gaydosz. "It was very basic. Now we're trying to learn more about our Catholic faith every day."

Her husband Michael has steadily grown in his faith, attending daily Mass, making the First Saturdays devotion, praying the Angelus and listening to Catholic podcasts.

Michael has been involved in parish evangelization efforts and men's fellowship with Father Joe Freedy, his college roommate and good friend. Joyce serves on the pastoral council and is an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.

Their three daughters have been involved in the parish and in Saint Gregory School. Myah, 15, who graduated last year and attends a Catholic high school, goes to Mass regularly, prays the rosary daily, is an altar server and cantor, and participates in youth ministry. Bella, two years younger, is an altar server and likes to attend Mass before school with her father.

Norah, 6, came home from school last month and announced, "I know what I'm going to do for Lent. I'm going to be nice to everyone!"

"We try to balance church, school and family time," Joyce says. "We're not perfect. We just love our faith and are working on it."
